Blue Cross and Blue Shield works with Medicare to offer a stand-alone prescription drug plan with three coverage options (two in 2016) and premiums to best meet your needs. Our plans provide additional protection against health costs by covering prescription drugs. Our members have access to a national network of pharmacies, so you're covered at home and when traveling within the United States.
Why MedicareBlue Rx?
Blue Cross and Blue Shield has worked with Medicare for many years
We know what it takes to work with government processes and succeed. MedicareBlue Rx plan options have features that beneficiaries may find attractive for different reasons, including low premium, $0 copays, no deductible, and extra gap coverage.
Members can appreciate how easy our plans are to use. They have the same pharmacy network that includes the major chains across the United States and many independent pharmacies. Our plans also include pharmacies with preferred cost sharing where costs may be lower.
Pharmacy benefits through CVS Caremark*
As one of the largest independent prescription drug management companies in the country, members have access to more than 68,000 pharmacies in our network, of those, more than 34,000 offer preferred cost sharing. CVS Caremark* also offers a wide range of services for Part D plans, including a rigorous Medication Therapy Management program and a mail order program to help members meet their prescription drug needs.
MedicareBlue Rx earns a 4-Star Rating in 2016
This rating is from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). A 5-Star Rating is the highest overall quality score any prescription drug plan (PDP) in the region has ever earned, so MedicareBlue Rx continues to be a top choice for members looking for quality.
