When you need professional medical advice, our nurse advice line, FirstHelp, gives reassurance any time — day or night. When you face a difficult medical situation, or if you are sick late at night and not sure if you should go to the emergency room, our toll-free FirstHelp Nurse Advice Line is ready to help.

Help when you’re not sure what to do next.

Specially-trained registered nurses help you get the right care at the right time. If the situation can be safely resolved at home, our nurses will tell you how — step by step. If you need medical attention, our nurses can help you choose when and where to be treated.

Watch for FirstHelp mailings.

When you enroll in a MedicareBlue PPO plan, you are eligible for the 24-hour FirstHelp Nurse Advice Line. You will receive an initial welcome packet by mail shortly after you enroll, and then education reminders about the service twice a year. The toll-free number for the service will be included in the mailing — and it is also listed for you on the back of your MedicareBlue PPO ID card. Remember, FirstHelp Nurse Advice Line is available to you 24-hours-a-day, 365-days a year.
