Network Providers

Doctors, specialists, hospitals and medical clinics are often referred to as providers. With MedicareBlue PPO (Regional PPO), the provider network available to you is extensive and full of options, spanning a seven-state region that includes doctors and hospitals in cities, towns, and other areas in the following states: Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming.

You may use any doctor or hospital you choose and receive benefits, but you receive better coverage when you use contracted providers inside the network. You may have to pay more for services received outside the network, except in emergency/urgent care situations. When you access network providers, your cost sharing (coinsurance or copayments) will generally be lower than when you access non-participating providers. However, your MedicareBlue PPO (Regional PPO) insurance is still available to you when you obtain care from non-network providers, but you may pay out-of-network cost sharing. If you visit a non-network provider and receive a bill, you should not pay it, but instead submit it to MedicareBlue PPO (Regional PPO) for processing. MedicareBlue PPO (Regional PPO) will determine your out-of-pocket cost, if any.
