Learn About Medicare

As you approach your retirement and Medicare eligibility, it’s important to take the right steps to get the comprehensive Medicare coverage you need. To learn more about Medicare, read How Medicare Works (PDF).

Why do you need additional coverage?

Original Medicare does not pay all of your health care expenses. There are deductibles and coinsurance you must pay when you receive health care services. Original Medicare also does not cover routine physicals, eye exams or outpatient prescription drugs. Your out-of-pocket expenses for these "coverage gaps" can add up quickly.

Fortunately, you have options to consider that can help with these extra costs. To learn about MedicareBlue PPO (Regional PPO), MedicareBlue Rx (PDP), Medicare Supplement Plans and other options available to people with Medicare, visit Plan Options.
